Medicare Advantage Plans, also known as Medicare Part C, are health plans offered by private insurers that include coverage provided in parts A and B of Original Medicare. When you enroll in a Medicare Advantage Plan your Original Medicare health services will be managed by your plan.

Medicare Supplement Insurance Plans, also known as Medigap Plans, are plans that work alongside your Original Medicare (Parts A and B) coverage that may help reduce out-of-pocket costs for Part A and B covered services.
They are often referred to as Medigap Plans as they that could help pay for out-of-pocket costs left by Original Medicare. There are 10 types of Medigap plans available from private insurance companies.
